Projects

Project examples from supply chain, logistics and WMS.

Advanum mandates, each described the same way: the situation, the services involved and the result. Client names and figures are withheld by agreement, the substance is not.

Three parties, one go-live plan

Pharmaceuticals · Southern Germany

Logistics provider implementation alongside an SAP EWM rollout

A logistics service provider was being onboarded while SAP EWM went live in parallel: provider, client and system integrator were working to three separate plans. Advanum took over project steering at a late stage, consolidated the plans into one schedule, aligned interfaces and cutover sequence, developed the test strategy and test cases, and reworked the target processes for the new operating model.

Services involved

  • Project steering
  • Go-live structuring
  • Test planning
  • Process adjustment
  • Provider steering

Result

The go-live ran on one integrated plan. Test coverage, adjusted processes and a single escalation path were in place before cutover.

Sites, requirements, award

Retail · Baden-Württemberg

WMS selection across sites, countries and continents

One warehouse management system had to fit sites in several countries and on several continents. Advanum documented the target processes, derived a testable requirements catalog including volume structure and special cases, built the evaluation model and ran RFI and RFP through to the award of technology partner and implementation partner.

Services involved

  • Target processes
  • Requirements definition
  • WMS selection
  • Award

Result

One requirements baseline for all sites, a traceable vendor comparison and a documented award decision.

Layout, material flow, technology

OEM · Northern Germany

Planning a battery warehouse

An OEM required a dedicated warehouse for battery storage. Advanum developed the process, layout and technology concept: material flow, storage and retrieval strategy, space and capacity requirement, warehouse technology and staffing were dimensioned against the target volumes.

Services involved

  • Process planning
  • Layout planning
  • Warehouse technology

Result

A coordinated warehouse concept — processes, layout and technology — as the basis for implementation planning and the investment decision.

Two sites, one interim role

Interim mandate · Furniture e-commerce

Restructuring two sites during an interim mandate

In an interim mandate, Advanum led the restructuring of two sites for a furniture e-commerce operator. The mandate covered process redesign, organizational structure and staffing model at both sites, and in parallel the selection and award of a new warehouse management system.

Services involved

  • Interim role
  • Site restructuring
  • WMS selection and award
  • Organization and staffing

Result

Two sites with redesigned processes and a new organizational structure, a warehouse management system under contract, and the leadership role handed back to the client's own team.

Clearance, transit, capital tied up

Supply chain · Middle East and East Africa

Clearance, transit and import processes across two regions

Across the Middle East and East Africa, clearance, transit and import handling was slow and tied up capital. Advanum analyzed the end-to-end process chain, redesigned clearance and transit handling with the local parties, and reworked the documentation and approval steps that kept capital bound.

Services involved

  • Process analysis
  • Clearance and transit
  • Import processes
  • Cash flow

Result

Shorter clearance and transit times — and an improved cash flow along the import chain.
